I've personally heard Polk Audio's new db series coupled with a Kicker 4-channel Amplifier and it was clear as day on the radio at all volumes.

Polk makes great speakers, and JL is equal but more expensive in my opinion.

I have Polks in my Truck and they sound awesome and they are still the older DB series and they do have a Kenwood Amp in front of them [8D]

i have a boston acoustics component system (tweeters and woofers) with crossoverspushed by 100w a channel into 4 ohms (alpine amps and head unit) and they are so clear. i get a good dimension of sound from them. my brother has a set of swiss audio components and they sound better, but they are about $250 a set and need a minimum of 85 watts to push them which means no power straight from the head unit.

Honestly I would check out some of your local audio shops and take a listen. Everyones ears are different, so what I like and the others the posted here like may not sound good to your ears. So take a drive and just tell the store clerks your just looking.

What Operator said... ^ ^ ^ Have a listen and ask what speakers they have that can handle to power your new head unit is pushing. They will never sound the same in the car as they sound in a demo panel, but you can get an idea.
You could also check out Crutchfield.com for some ideas. They have well trained people on their staff that can help you decide based on how you answer their questions. But as always, beware of people w/wares to sell. Be sure they are not trying to sell you a more expensive speaker than you need or can afford, when a cheaper one will do just as well. In short, you have to do some research on your own and take responsibility.

Personally, I don't like Infinity speakers as they sound too tinny to my ears... like Clarion and Blaupunkt HU's. Great for Classical musicthough(what they were originally designed for.)
