well for starts for the outside of your car, you want it to look nicer so you could think about getting the windows tinted (about 30 bucks a window by me), get a VG Shark fin antenna to replace the one currently on there, gives it a slicker look, (i think it was 80 with shipping)

Performance is my specialty!
I need to do more research on the mazda as I am more of a Subaru guy, but... here is my take.
Suspension;
Slotted Rotors... http://www.optionsauto.com/products.asp?dept=6980
sweet for braking and look super nice. You have to purchase according to the link all four. but it is still only $380 for all.
Anti-Sway bars... http://www.optionsauto.com/prodinfo....mber=HOT-22436
FWD is renound for understeer, this will stiffen the chassis up and handling will definitely increase. You will notice the biggest difference with just a Rear sway, but front will help as well.
Coilovers...http://www.optionsauto.com/prodinfo....IN-DSM80-KUAS2
These are sweet. Especially if you get the EDFC (adjust damper inside the car with the push of a button). adds a huge handling aspect, easier to align, ride height adjustable and with 16 settings for damper adjustment, you can have a setting to cruise like its a cadillac or stiff like a race car.
if the Teins are too expensive, the BC racing BR-Type coilover would be an excellent choice as well. http://www.importimageracing.com/mm5...egory_Code=582
Power;
Intake...http://www.importimageracing.com/mm5...S3intake-inlet
I like this carbon fiber charger kit. Most CAI boast a 5+ hp increase at 4500 rpm, this one says 10.
Big power would be the Tripoint turbo kit, but I think that would be for the serious power guys.
I wish that someone made an even higher compression piston and cams. I am not aware yet of a good exhaust for the Mazda.
Obviously I think suspension would be the best bet for these. Mazda didn't make this a "power" car and the ECU is a pain to tune. So suspension, wheels and some good summer tires. keep the stock rims for the winter.
