No Pal. I'm afraid you've got that backwards.
The lower the number, the more light output and the yellower (that's a good thing btw) the light. The higher numbers are blue and purple, but produce little usable light.
If I wuz U, I'd be lookin' @ 4-6K bulbs and nothing higher. 8-12K bulbscause eye strain and your eyes will tire. Your eyes change gears in the dark and don't work the same as in daylight. These light will not change that.(Rods and cones. Color and B&W. Remember 8th grade biology?)
Plus w/the reduced output... your paying $300+ for what,a look??? Make itwork for you, not against.

ya, i was thinking just getting 6000K bulbs.
that way i get the HID look, but i still get a lot of usable light out of them.

and our low beams are H7's, and high beams are 9005's

im thining about getting Prolumen's, because of the brand name and quality... theres a sponsor on a local forum, so im just awaiting a PM from him for pricing.
i was quoted $390 today for prolumen or ignited at a local shop.
and i can get KWD's (which ive never heard of) off the same forum for $230

and the more money i can save, the sooner i can get my window's tinted :P

Picture 1 and 3 show how my lights look when you get close...and when they first turn on..a nice blue tint. But once the get to the proper temp...pic 4, they look clost to normal, but you can see, in pic 2,how much light they actually put out. There is no street lights in my community...so it was pitch black before they went on.

Iwould go with 6000-6500k with what your looking for. Mine shoot pretty damn far...I would have to say well over 100ft. The exrta bonus of the HIDs is the side vision....the spread of the lights comes near my frontdoors....the are bright as hell. Helps especially here in vegas with all the construction,I can clearly see all the cones, concrete construction walls, etc..
