RE: i just found the most beautiful rims i've ever seen
dude, finding rims with like a +45 and up offset(46,47,48...) is really hard, nothing in motegi, nothing in ADR, the only close one was enkei, but none of those rims look good on the MZ3 in my opinion, i think i jus might try my luck with the 40 offset, and 215 tire and see if it works, i heard i can machine the rim to a bigger offset

I'd look at slightly rolling the fender lips a little.
Try going and talking to a body shop about it. I've never tried it myself, but I hear it's not that difficult, you just need to take your time with it.
Here's an 18x7.5 w/48mm offset (close)

Here's the search I did on www.tirerack.com....There seem to be a ton in the 48mm range which should work.

RE: i just found the most beautiful rims i've ever seen
Probably just depends on what they have in stock and what fits most other cars (Mazda3 isn't exactly a huge volume car.)
If you were planning on running a 215/45R17, then you should look at a 215/40R18 tire if you're looking at 18's. I've seen quite a few with 18's running around, so the fit obviously doesn't seem to be too bad, although they could be rubbing under some instances.
I think 18's look the best. Especially with ~1-1.5" drop.....
