Idle dip, stalling, spark knock

Idle dip, stalling, spark knock
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me. I have a 06 Mazda3. I noticed that while idling the RPMs would dip a little then work itself out. Then, just today I was stopped at a light and it stalled completely with no warning. I have a AT (tritronic) transmisson. I also have noticed a noise when accelerating. I took it to the dealership for my first routine maintaince, has 4400 miles on it. They couldn't find any problems when they hooked it up to the computer. They said that the sound was spark knocking and gave me a speech about putting in good fuel. I am a little upset that my new car that I have had for only a few months would just stall out of the blue in the middle of traffic.
Does anyone have suggestions or have experienced the same problem??

when the RPM's go down for a bit does it do it constantly like go back and forth, if so my buddy Jensen with his 94 sentra does the same thing and our team president with her 97 Eclipse Spyder, and she said it had something to do the the throttle body and it needs to be cleaned or replaced.

those parts shouldnt be dirty that much with that low mileage unless hes like drivin in flood water, or off-roading. try looking at the intake, all of it, while its on(beware of fan and many other moving parts), you might see some wires attached to the intake box jiggle those around a little bit and see if it bogs on you or dies on you, it just might be a loose connection. OR! it could be something with the ground wire, use the search button, i dont understand it completely or i'd explain it to you. maybe capernicus will spot this and tell you. you could have a lemon and that'll suck donkey nuts for you cuz then you dont want another mazda3 prolly, anyhow, good luck man

Exact problem with my 2006 3I with Auto. 680 Miles. Tach slowly moves between 900 - 500 RPM, and occaisionally stumbles on takoff. Stalled out this morning, so I brought it in. Dealer said there was a new TSB on a "stumbing and stalling problem", and that a chip flash? was required..
Hope its fixed, I like the car...

First thing Id do is look up any "UPDATES" or "Service Bulletins" for the car. I found a Good update website for my Mazda 3 Here...
I would also upgrade my sparkplugs to a 3 or 4 prong high quality plug and scrape the paint off the frame where the battery grounds to the car. That will ensure a better electrical path. All you need is sand paper and a pair of pliers! But before you do all these small changes
Do This:
Ask the technicians to connect a piggy back computer to your car. Its a small computer that plugs into your cars computer from under the dashboard. It stays on all the time and measures all the cars specifications. When you have a problem you press a button on the small computer. When you bring the car back to the dealership they can go directly to the point where you pressed that button and pull of the cars specification at that moment. Then they can better diagnose the malfunctions. If they dont have this type of small computer maybe another dealership has it. And if No dealership in your are has it then you CAN get it fixed from another place that has such a computer and get reimbursed from MAZDA when it is fixed. I know cause I worked at a car dealership.....Good Luck,,,
