Immobilizer bug, cannot start car
Hi,
I have a Mazda 3 2015 with 20K miles on it. Yesterday morning I tried starting my car and was unable to. I saw that a red light with a car and a lock was blinking. After some reading, I now understand that it is because the security system does not recognize the key. So far I have tried
1) Taking the key fob really close to the push button and starting,
2) Replacing the battery in the key fob,
3) Jump starting the car,
but unfortunately none of these steps have helped.
Short of towing the car to the dealer, is there anything I can do to reset the immobilizer system (assuming this is the issue)?
Thanks!
