Injen or Fujita - Cold Air Intake??
#4
you will come up with about the same results either way, but the fujita is going to be better looking. I would just tell you to get the one that you like best appearance wise. an intake is an intake until you are up over 400 hp or so.

I'm more concered as to where the air filter ends up. I know the Injen location , but not the F5. Are they both in the same place. ( Inside left fender in just behind the inner wall). I've seen some with the filter going straight down near the bottom of the engine bay and didn't like them. I'm going to fabricate a splash shield in the fender and was considering options. If they both have the same layout and funtion, then it' just a matter of price.

Many like the F5 but it has a problem... the placement of the MAF sensor puts excess stress on the wiring harness and unless its extended, it will fail sooner or later.
The Injen (imo) is the best of the best, BUT!! It's more expensive than others and it does not offer very much improvement in performance, inspite of what they, or any others advertise.
Please remember that advertising is more often than not there to convince you of some stretch of the truth! the truth is that unless you are turbocharged or plan to run your car on a race track every time the key is turned, it will probably do so little except separate you from your money, that you will not even notice.

I hear ya. Wasn't expecting a drastic change. Origionally I wanted to try and get 200hp out of the car, but have since come to the conclusion that there would me more then it's worth to achieve that. Especially with an automatic. I figured I'd go with a CAI, headers and intake and tie in the frame and motor mounts. I kbow it's more for asthetics then performance.

I went with a fijuta F5 CAI, there was a small gain of torque out of first gear and a wonderful noise that makes you happy.
When having it installled i kept in mind the MAF wires and they are not being stressed at all ( i have a 2007 M3 hatch, manual)
