I'm talking about when I'm slowing down and trying to avoid shaking my car by shifting down too quickly. It seems to be kinda sensitive on when you downshift. But the tiptronics in Mazda is pretty good. I love how it doesn't upshift for you when accelerating!

i put it in neutral when im slowing down or when im sitting at a red light, reduces wear on brakes and other things granted its minimal but a little bit goes a long way

Well I didn't think it was good for the car to keep putting it from tiptronics to drive and neutral. and etc.
And wouldn't it make the shifting weird when going back into tiptronics if you don't stop completely?

no, there is a programmed range for .5-.7 sec between any gear shift to allow for mistakes or w/e, ive actually put in into reverse while driving cuz i was coasting in neutral and i quickly put it back in neutral before anything happened. ive even sat bored as hell switching between drive and manual mode for a good 5min, sometime i would even have it in neutral rev a little and slip it into manual mode w/o and not have any jerking, play some more video games and you can get that kind of quickness

Note: Tracker is not responsible for any damages while performing quick and risky gear changes while not under the proper conditions. Tracker would also like to inform everyone to drive safe, dont get a 2010 3, and stop being lazy and get a fkin manual trans car

Neutral drops are brutal on your transmission!
But back to the jerky gear change subject in automatic mode, it always does hard shifts while the engine is cold. And does it slightly when it warms up, it does it if I go up to 2750 rpms. It's really annoying! Any ideas in hat it could be? Or is it normal? I don't want to pay 90 dollars to get it looked at for nothing

im not doing neutral drops i dont go past 1k and i dont do it all the time

See i could 100% tell you if something isnt right if i was there, i cant really determine or give an accurate suggestion on the next course of action w/o actually being there and feeling what your feeling. It may be something as simple as the valve bodies or it could be a programming error on the ecu side OR it could be a bad ground OR it could be...see where im going with this. i wish i could tell you what most likely would cause the problem but id/you have to do a few tests to even get close w/o tearing the thing apart. Off the top of my head i can advise calling a local mazda dealer, tell them whats going on and see if they could give a reason as to why your trans is acting like that or if its just you really wishing you had a manual trans and tricking yourself into thinking the trans is bad and replace it with a 5spd

Haha oh okay
Well I think I will conclude that I'll just go get it checked out and see if something is wrong with it. Anything damaged should be covered by the powertrain warranty right?
Other than the 90 dollar fee to get it inspected
