I love how fun the Mazda 3 is to drive. I had a 2008 2.3 Mazda 3 but had to sell it because I got my Mom's Jaguar at the time. That was a joke because it cost more to keep going than getting a new Mazda would have. Looking forward to many years of fun.

So you've had a 1st gen and have now moved up to a 2nd gen. You should be a good resource for the differences, for better or worse, of the two.

The handling feels about the same between the 08 and 12. I haven't gone all out withthe acceleration on the new one yet. I want to wait until I get 1000 miles on it.

 

In terms of upgrading I'm not going to do anything other thn a K&N filter. It's my only car and I drive about 20,000 miles a year. Mazda 3's are my favorite car.
