K&N air filter

K&N air filter
if anyone here has a k&n filter, not the CAI or Short-Ram intake, but just the normal replacement filter in the stock box, has anyone had a problem with the filter oil being sucked in thru the intake and into the engine, possibly fouling anything up. I was talking with a Supra owner, and he was saying that other Supra owners had problems with the oil being sucked up and getting on the AFM and messing that up. i just wanted to hear if any mazda owners had that same problem.

RE: K&N air filter
It shouldn't be soaked that heavy. I've used K&N style air filters on a number of vehicles with no problems whatsoever (Both carburated and fuel injected.) A light coating of oil on the outside is all that is required (should end up a light pink color)

RE: K&N air filter
right, i had one in another car for a couple of years and never had any problems with it. i just wanted to double check on the forum after talking with the Supra owner. I am going to get one in a couple weeks, has anyone taken the air guard off the car and ran it that way. need to get more air pulled in, without buying a CAI or short ram intake system.
