K/N SRI Filter installation help
Hi, tried several times to install a K/N SRI on my Mazda 3i, each time it ran great for about 5 days then the car would stall or either cut off. The installation was correct, it just would cut off. Please help!! I would like to keep that SRI system install. I am now using a K/N panel filter and it works fines, no stalls or cutoffs.

RE: K/N SRI Filter installation help
What part number is that K&N SRI? Also, did you hook up the vacuum line to the intake? Make sure that you clean your MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor) with MAF cleaner. The K&N filters are oiled from the factory, so there is a chance that the oil has coated the MAF and thrown off its readings. Also disconnect the battery for a few minutes, and reconnect it. That will reset the computer and it will have to relearn everything. Just be sure to write down or memorize you stations and all that, as you will lose everything. Try those tips, and let us know how it turns out for you.

The Typhoon series is convertible from a CAI to an SRI.

Like da" Man said, make sure your MAF is clean, but be very careful handling it. It"s delicate.
You don"t say what year and tranny you have? Different yearscan often have different problems. For example; if an "04,the PCM software has been upgraded. Has yours been reflashed? There was also a TSB concerning the MAF sensor ground wire.

RE: K/N SRI Filter installation help
I have a 07 Mazda 3 2.0L engine w/ auto transmission. I had installed the 6010TR Typhoon Kit. I was using the SRI, I have enough room in the engine compartment to install the SRI without removing the lower part of the OEM air intake housing.
