Lots of fun driving in the snow! Seriously
The past three winters i have complained about the snow. This car, with its big rim size, leaves it hard to find a decent all weather tire. I would slip and slide or not move at all when the white stuff came falling down. Over the summer my Bridgestones failed NYS inspection and i was forced to buy new tires. I was willing to give up the performance for something that would do well in the snow. I found out about Nokians. The mechanic and the website said that they were true all season tires, so I got them. When they were put on my car, i turned back and asked if they were snow tires because they have the zig-zag pattern. He told me they were true all seasons. As i was driving home i noticed how much quieter my ride was and how it was even more comfortable. This was done in May and i couldn't wait to drive in the snow to see how the tires would perform.
The past week we have been bombarded with snow. I had to go to work. I was driving in 4-6 inches of snow with no problem. I was passing people. I was able to do the speed limit. On side roads i was voluntarily doing emergency maneuvers, and the car passed. If there was sliding, i just let off the gas and the car corrected itself. It felt like the car had stability control. I had so much fun, i just kept driving around! I went into my cul-de-sac and did donuts. I was turning the wheel abruptly side to side and the car stayed in its path. I was getting a little cocky with these tires. I highly recommend these tires for anyone that lives in a snowy climate. They didn't run cheap. I think they were 170 or 180 USD a tire. But the price of safety and mobility is worth it.
