mazda 3, CAI tight fit
so i have a cheapo CAI i got off amazon.com. it fits and everythings fine, accept for the CEL light keeps coming on and there is hardly any clearance between my intake and part of the frame. anyway, when i'm cruising in 4th an 5th i can hear a rattling/ clicking sound. it sounds like it could be my valves clicking alot more than they should... or my intake is vibrating on part of the frame or something.... anyone else have this problem?

A couple things: Reset your ECU by unbolting all grounds from your negative terminal on the battery----proceed to driver's seat and depress your brake pedal for 10 seconds. You will have to re-set your radio. I hope you cleaned your Mass Air Sensor since you had it out! and cleaned your throttle body------both must be dry before re-starting (ECU must be re-set during these operations).
After removing battery terminal, stepping on brakes, cleaning MAF & throttle body, now you let car idle for at least 10 minutes. Your intake hopefully will re-learn your new intake after 50-100 miles. The Mass Air Sensor should not be located on a bend. in that situation you need to buy an air intake straightener from AEM. If that doesn't work, you lose, buy another one. http://www.streetunit.com/AEM_Mass_A..._p/9-21070.htm
Also the vac line that went to your air box must be plugged (at either point circles in red in pics). The green solenoid must still be plugged in (it was attached to your old air box--see pic), remove it and re-attachthe electric connection, don't worry about vac lines on that.
NOTE: PICS FROM MY MAZDA 6 2006, yours may vary
