my head is still fine, ive just been talking to quiet a few techs that have worked on the duratec and mzr platform, pretty much what was said was that the blocks are good for around 200k mi if not more. the heads are a different story, with poor oil passages going up the head and a "cheaply" built valvetrain, its not uncommon to see almost a full valvetrain swap at the 130k mark, it may not blow but power loss typically starts around 80k.

I too have to agree that the sedan looks better! I absolutely refused to even look at any hatchbacks, until one night I had a "revelation" that I wanted one. Really I just thought about why I liked my Explorer so much and it was the functionality of the hatchback plus my Golden/Husky mix would sure appreciate the extra space in the back.
