Mazda3 5-door hatch won't open
Hi All -
I have a 2010 Mazda3 5-Door. Today my hatch will not open.
When I press the black button on the hatch, nothing happens. I've locked and unlocked the doors. Still no luck.
I live in Ohio and we've had a horrible winter. Could rock salt have gotten into the hatch mechanism and corroded the latch so it will not open? Or is this an electronics issue?
Can you point me in the right direction? Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks,
JB

Don't the 10+ have a keyhole in the hatch? If so, I'm sure you've tried that as well?
You may be able to access through the inside. On the 1st gens, there's a covered hole in the hatch's interior panel that once removed, and with a flashlight, you should be able to manually release it. it may require a screwdriver, etc, I don't rightly remember now?
You could also check the owners manual for the operation?

Still no luck. Took it to the dealership today. They were able to manually get the hatch open but are dumbfounded as to what caused this issue or how to fix it. Is it as simple as replacing the hatch latch? Or is this some sort of computer issue?
