RE: Mazda3 Beep/Chime Codes
asked about her weight because the air bag system shifts into low gear if there is someone (or something) in the seat, but they weigh less than 120
Of course I knew that. I think it's a good oneliner.
Imagine working at a dealership, guy comes in and says. My car goes clickity, clickity, womp, womp, womp. And the service guy says. Now, I have heard of this before, is your wife under a 120 pounds?
smack.

RE: Mazda3 Beep/Chime Codes
Thanks for all the ideas! I had a 6ft+ "hefty" German guy in the car with me on the last trip, so it's definitely not a weight thing. When my wife called me on the road, when it first happened, that was my idea too.
We didn't get the GT, so I don't even think we have tire pressure sensors. I checked the tire pressure too, just to be sure, and that's good as well.
It's definitely not the keys either. My wife is pretty sure it's coming from the steering column though, as well. Still no luck on getting the type of chime to reproduce, by doing something else strange.
Does anyone know what the various causes for chimes are? I tried pretty much everything to at least isolate the type of chime - keys in the ignition with the door open, lights on with the engine off, the seatbelt... what else causes the car to yell at you? I think perhaps it must be one of the engine warnings, just because it's the only one I can't get to happen.
I came over to Germany for work. I work for a US company with an office over here. I figured it was a sweet way to check out Europe and (try) to learn a new language. The people here are great, and we're havinga good time so far.
I'm also mostly of German descent. Like 50-60% German, and the rest mutt.
We'll get it to the dealer tomorrow, so I'll post something once they diagnose it.
Cheers!
