Also keep in mind that a 530, while more powerful, is also heavier and RWD.
The best snow car I ever owned was a ratted out (till I got hold of it) 1968 Volvo 144S w/a very weak engine and sagging rear springs. Once I "fixed it," it was never the same again in snow... in fact, it sucked. But it was great in the dry and fun in the rain.

It wasn"t 1968 when I got the car, silly. I said that it was already ratted out. I had that car in the early-mid "80"s, the first car I lowered too.
As far as being a tank is concerned, it weighed less than our current 3"s do.... 2200 lbs, iirc. It wasn"t much to look at I"ll give you. Faded green paint w/a white LS fender and Rustoleum Rusty Metal primer where panels had been replaced, but it surprised more than a few "takers" in the straights and especially in the twisties. I even raced another newer modded Volvo sedan on a private gravel road oneafternoon (about+/- amile long) and beat the crap out of him. He was literally eating my dust!

snipo makes me laugh (not ha ha), a perfect illustration of why middle classAmerica is dyingunder debt.

Starts off (very first post, way back on page 1) by talking about a failed business venture, much debt, needs to buy an inexpensive new car, but only if he can justify not continuing to drive his beater van.

Then buys a new car, and on top of that, he immediately chucks the brand new tires on it -without even driving even two weeks on the goodyears (which may not be great, but aren't exactly walmart bargain bin crap)-springs north ofhalf agrandfor a new set, andis immediately making plans to buy new rims in a few months ... what happened to the mountain of debt from the failed business venture? What about being fiscally responsible? Soon as something shiny shows up, the mountain of debt just gets bigger. That's today's middle class America.

I HAVE AN IDEA. buy some 22s for his van and sell the mazda3. then everyone wins and i go to bed knowing that UBM will say something about this in the morning. all jokes aside perhaps something has come up and does have some sort of disposable income. but you never know. things change very easily

It's a message board, jimmy canook. Saying something is the point.

interestingly enough with that jimmy canook or w/e you got my initials right. and i know i just wanted a reaction and i got what i was looking for for sure. anyhow perhaps something went well and now he can afford some sort of things. orr sold the van and now buy rims wtih the money he got from scrappin the van or selling it. w/e comes first

Hmmm. Seems like if you get little crossways with urban he goes and gets personal on your ***. It’s disturbing that some people have such a sense of arrogance and superiority that they somehow feel justified sitting in judgment of others when no one that walks on this earth is beyond reproach.

It’s a shame when one feels the need to stoop to such childish behavior.

Jaimie, my comments are strictly my opinion of Urban's post regarding shipo.
