Got a question for you Mazda3 nuts out there.

This one came out of nowhere. My car all of a sudden doesn't turn as quickly as it should; when I turn the car on, it turns heavy.

I thought it was the battery, but the battery is still new. And I had it charged just to make sure.

So, what could it be? The starter? The alternator?

Let me know.

I have a 2008 Mazda3 I really don't want to get rid of, and I'm trying to fix it up.....slowly.

You've got hydraulic-boosted steering. I would check the reservoir fluid level and the belt tension (and belt condition) to the pump.
