Missing key fob

Missing key fob
I lost my key fob last week. I had thought I had loaned it to my granddaughter. She says she gave it back to me, anyway. Now, each time she comes over to my house my car alarm goes off. I have owned this car for 2 years and it’s never behaved like this before. I think it’s because the key fob might be lost in her purse or her car.
any thoughts.......
your help would be appreciated

I have the same problem with the key fob. What an absolutely stupid design. There is a reason no other automaker has put the buttons on the side, they get pressed in your pocket! Just yesterday, unloading the groceries from the car, the panic button went off twice Infuriating. Based on another thread here, I tried a silicone sleeve. Fits nice but doesn't seem to help. You can't fix a bad design with a sleeve.

Key fob too sensitive
Design with buttons on side is awful. Seems like panic button would go off every time I would bend over to tie my shoes when I had CX5. Several times walked out of restaurant or shop to find lift gate open in parking lot. Never have had this problem with any other key fob. Bought new CX 70 and keep finding liftgate open in garage. Since CX70 is much longer it hits garage door and gets scratches. When garage door was opened it caught against lift gate and put a dent in it before it stopped. A few days later liftgate was open again and when my wife drove up in her car the liftgate caught again further damaging the lift gate and tearing the garage door off its track. Cost $300 to repair garage door. Leather fob cover hasn’t helped. My CX70 still has dealer tags on it, but the rear end looks like it has 10 years of parking lot damage.
Seriously thinking about trading it in with only 1,500 miles on it. NEVER had this happen with any other key fob.
