MP3 hardwire

MP3 hardwire
I have a 2005 3i with the stock stereo and I'm curious if anyone knows of a way to hardwire a MP3 player or ipod to the existing system. If not, is there an after market deck out there with a input for an MP3 that would still work with the steering wheel controls? At the moment I'm using an irock FM transmitter but it can be spotty in the city.

RE: MP3 hardwire
I have been looking for three months for the answer to this question and no one can help me so I did some investigating on my own. If you go to www.sylfex.com under Products then AuxMod you will see a product that might allow you to hardwire your MP3. I say MIGHT because I dont know anyone who has done it with this product. Second I spoke with people that install audio into the Mazdas (Dad works for Mazda) and they say there is no method that they are aware of but they are trying to build an interface for Ipods but won't be ready for a few years. If you happen to come across a better answer to this problem let me know.

RE: MP3 hardwire
I found a AUX input converter that can used to hardwire your i pod. http://www.mazdaparts.com/ProductDet...000-1112606399. You also need a Mbus to 3.5 stereo http://www.mazdaparts.com/ProductDet...001-1115920829 or Mbus to RCA http://www.mazdaparts.com/ProductDet...000-1112606399. I just ordered both of these and hope to get them installed soon, because the Fm transmitter is trash.
