Default NA vs Boost

Hi, I have a mazda 3 atx 2.3. I want to know what kind of horse power gain i can get with a higher piston compression. I have a magnaflow catback, aem cai, and will be getting aem ignition/fuel controller. With those things combined at a 12:1 compression ratio what kind of gain can i be looking at? Can i run plus or regular gas with 12:1? Can i run plus with 14:1? if i do this i will definitely get a torque converted and valve body upgrade. I think it will definitely make it a fun car to drive. If those HP gain is not so great i might just boost it at really low PSI but if i do boost i will definitely be getting a new trans in the future. thoughts?

Wanna save yourself a ton of money, time and aggravation? Trade your car for a MazdaSpeed3; you won't regret it.

Or if you dont wanna be lazy just convert to a 5spd and boost it. Auto trans are not gonna last long even with valvebodies and a tq converter. IF you ran 12:1 compression thats high octane required and 14:1 is even closer to race gas only.

My car has been modded, its 15,000 miles over the lease that is up tomorrow and it needs to be detailed. No, trading it for a speed3 will not save me any money at all even in the long run. On top of that, hatchbacks look like ****, and the non-DISI has been known to be easier to boost to high PSI without as many problems as the DISI.

Thank you for the replies but no one bothered to say what kind of HP i would be looking at with 12:1.

also@ tracker
if i ended up boosting and getting a manual i will convert tot he mps 6speed trans

no one gave you an answer because there not many people doin all motor let alone just getting higher compression pistons. My best guess with a tune is 150-170whp MAYBE.
