Default Nav chip added, now questions....

Hello,

I finally got a nav chip for my 2015 i Touring 4 door. The overall map itself is ok, I've seen prettier maps, but I got this for the whole experience and convenience of it. My questions;

1-It says to connect to wifi to try out some of the features. It seems like those features are online traffic and weather. I think I read elsewhere they disabled the ability to tether the car to a wifi hot spot from my phone. Is that correct? So those two features are basically unusable?

2-I'm not sure I am too keen on the "historical traffic" option it uses; but the HD Traffic is something I would take seriously when trying to avoid traffic. Does this HD overlay onto the nav map and is it taken into account CURRENT traffic from the HD traffic map?

3-How do I update the map version?

Thanks!

Patrick

Who is the Map supplier? Tomtom? Navman? etc
You create a online account with the map supplier & update the maps via the SD card when you slot the SD card into your computer.

Did you ever figure out how to get the real time traffic?
