Default NAV system icons

The "home" icon on my NAV system somehow changed from the house it originally showed to a dot. I have no idea what changed it and can't find any options in the NAV menus to change the home icon, although there is an option to change any other memory point's icon. Anyone know how to access/change the "home" icon??

Thanks - Greg

Mine did that too. I'm not sure why either. The salesman set my "home" point when I took delivery by typing in the street address. I think though that it is a two step process, you have to "register" that memory point as your home.

I got out the NAV manual, and went and deleted that memory point. I then went back in and added a point (while sitting in my driveway). There was a separate step to "register" it as home. I can't tell you how to do it without looking at the book but it is discussed. Once I did that, voila it shows as a house icon again.

One thing to consider-- before setting that as the "home" location, you can move that point manually on the map. I moved it up to the corner of the cross streets up the road a block or so. Call me paranoid but I figure if the car got stolen someday (or sold/traded and I forgot to delete the point) I wouldn't want someone to be able to easily find out where my "home" was. I figured a block away was close enough.

Thanks.

I finally noticed that the home icon was showing around the edges of the other icon. Somehow a destination icon got put on top of the home. I went in to edit route and deleted the destination that was set and it's back to normal. The destination must have gotten set by bumping the buttons on the wheel I guess.
