Yes, V1, as you have experienced, this forum is sometimes a POS andallows only short posts. The above was my way around the tech probs I was experiencing. It's better now. Anyway, you were saying that Mazda may be trying to emulate Honda/Toyota with the new 6, if they do that with the new 3 .... since both Corolla and Civic have a 1.8, does that mean Mazda introduces a 1.8 (in North America .. I think they already have a 1.8 in other models elsewhere globally)?

And Civic's big engine (inits Si)is a 2.0 ... does that mean the 3's big engine should be a 2.0 or maybe apimped 2.0 ... and the 2.3, which suffers in the MPG department, goes away?

The 6 gets the 2.5 which suffers even more.

The 6 is a mid-sized car and truth be told, only a little bigger than the 3 series, but a much different philosophy in development.

2008 Mazda 3 weighs 2800 pounds - 700 pound difference is 'a little bigger'?

But with the 2.5 and the A/T it is getting better MPG than the current model at 30 MPG on the highway
