New, annoying sounds after CV axle, control and and brake replacement?
Just replaced the drivers side lower control arm, CV axle, and brakes on my 2011 Mazda 3 i. But now when I rock the car when it’s parked, there’s this brand new knocking sound. Not in neutral, drive or reverse that I can hear though. And on top of that, there’s this annoying scraping sound when I’m driving or in reverse.
Near as I can tell, the dust shield isn’t scraping against the rotor so I’ve ruled that out. I’m going to replace the axle once more and see if that solves the popping issue. In the video, I placed my phone underneath my car and rocked it back and forth to try to capture the sound. I can feel the popping coming from the axle itself when I put my hand on it.
