I have an 05 ..6 Sport thats Blazin copper, and I have never put a coat of wax on it. I run it through the car wash when it gets dirty, and have never washed it w a rag. The paint looks brand new, being garage kept, has a few scratches on it(I dont want swirl marks on the clear coat)...but I used a swirl remover on my truck and it looks awesome. I plan to hit the car w some Meguires, they seem to have the best products. I use the plastx on the clear lenses, and theres no sign of fading or clouding. I recommend their products anyday

Default Don't get it

Let me see...first they prime the bare metal, then they apply paint, then they protect the paint with a clear coat. How many more protective coats do we need?

Leave it alone. After a year or so, just give it a wax job with any major brand wax made for clear coated finishes.

I've had several clear coated cars in recent years and even after several years they still look good...with just a weekly wash job.
