New to the forums (performance upgrade options)
Hello everybody. I just joined the forums and am now interested in making my 2009 mazda3i sport faster. I have done a bit of research on some subjects, but I figured with a forum this specific to a certain car, the knowledgebase must be pretty good
So it seems the first mods many people do is a CAI/RAI and an exhaust. Is this true? I was looking at fujita and corksport intakes. These fairly good quality?
After these are bought and installed, how do you guys get tunes on your cars? I also have a Dodge Charger r/t and tune it via a diablosport predator. What do you all use for the mazdas?
Lastly, I was looking at turbos and was wondering if I could get a stock turbo from a speed3. Are these compatible?
Thanks for all you help. I know I could have used google but there are so many different opinions out there it is hard to get an answer from somewhere that isn't the company's website (Dynoed at +40 hp and +15mpg for $5.00!)
Thanks again,
Boomkapow

First things first, unless your car has a manual transmission and you're willing to spend two the three thousand dollars at the very least, you're not going to gain much of anything. As for gaining "+40HP and +15mpg for five dollars"; I can tell you without even looking that it is utter and complete Bull Shirt. Said another way, ain't never gonna happen.

It has an auto-shifter (or whatever it's called). And why would I need a manual to gain hp?
And yea, those are the examples that led me to come here so I could get some real input instead of companies outrageous claims.

As your user name suggests, if you boost your motor with a typical seven to ten pounds of boost, your automatic transmission will go "Boom-Kapow!"

But if u still want some "pep", your basic bolt ons followed by an underdrive pulley and reflash could net you a total of 20whp 35tq....at the moderate price of ~$1300, welcome to the world of modding. Im going to put something into perspective for you, a 2.0 mazda 3 with full bolt ons could manage mid to high 15sec in 1/4mi, a 2.3 mid to low 15sec MAYBE. My buddy in his full weight 94 accord 4 door ran 14.7 single cam 2.2 full bolt-ons, his crx 1.6l ran 15.1 full bolt ons. just giving u a reference where you will stand after 1300

yeah def not with an auto.
im thinking you might be able to break in to 14 with a cai, ecaust, header, pully, and fly wheel. idk if youd have to have a sts and a clutch (but if your replacing the flywheel why not do the clutch too lol)
