New to the world of Mazda's.
Hello,
I currently have a Citroen C4 and I am considering looking at a 3, either a 1.6 or a 2.0 petrol. I know Ford own Mazda so how much of the 3 is based on Ford parts? Where are Mazda's made.
Although I have a Citroen I do confess to being a Japanese car fan and I do miss my Honda Civic I had.

Ford only Owns 32%.
Over there (I am assuming England since you are from Newcastle) it might be a little closer to the Focus, US and European Focuses are different. But I know on the 2.3 motor the only ford part that I have foundis the dipstick in the 08 and I would guess to say the 1.6 and 2.0 are the same way.
Like I said, after driving the US Focus in 2007 and the the Mazda 3 I chose the 3. handling and ride as well as interior comfort are much better on the Mazda 3.
BTW My 3 is From HiroshimaJapan, 95% of the parts are Japanese.

You are absolutely correct, Sir. That's why they have an above average reliabilty rating and the 6 series does not... I'm sorry to say. (I AM an American after all, and it's frustrating....)
