OMG I Got A Scratch! AHHHH!!
I just got my 2008 Mazda 3 (Check out the Profile Pic) at the end of December and I have discovered a scratch already! I was giving my car a hand wash for the first time and I saw that There was a scratch that is about a half an inch long a little left of my liscence plate on the back bumper.
The paint came off a little and it looks like it either hit a curb or another car nicked it. It completely unoticable unless you are A) A TRUE Mazda 3 lover, or even worse B) an appraiser, ie when I trade my car in in 3 years!
Is there anything I can do to fix it that won't cost me a fortune? I was considering getting the Scratch Doctor gel, but I don't want to make it even worse. Please let me know what I can do to fix this! Come on Jaime, I know you'll have an answer! haha

Wait for the free touch-up paint (if you got the car in Dec, chances are you haven't yet received the paint by mail) and use it. I'd also suggest going over the fix w/some clear coat. It will look better and last longer that way.

Well the upside is that it's on your bumper so it's not going to rust. If the scratch is shallow (i.e. not all the way down to the plastic) then you might be able to use something like scratch x or buff it out with some polishing compound. Even if part of it's deep it might decrease the rest of it.

well unless you dont get it in the mail you can actually get some of the touch up paint. its like 10 bucks not at all expensive.. but what you do is you clean your car completely and then buff it out as much as you can... then you use the touch up paint and then voila good as new. thats what i did when my brother scratched my bumper taking his damn hockey bag out of my trunk. i almost killed him.. but i got it fixed so its all good!
