yeah, but the stock speed3 (only) make 263 horsepower.
if you use turbo setup from HiBoost, along with forged rods, you close todouble that of the speed3.
thats what im planning on doing when my lease is over (and i buy my mazda out of course)

But you would just start at 263 hp with the Speed3...you also get a better transmission with 6-speeds and Limited slip diff, you get wider fenders to clear wider tires, you get a stiffer chassis through unique to the Speed3 bracing in the unibody, you get 10mm lower suspension & increased rate sway bars....It's more than just a turbo.
I agree, the base Speed3 is a steal. Just to add a turbo you're probably looking at $3-4K additional, it you got your Base 3 for 18K, you're already pushing Speed3 prices without all of the extras listed above....

Also, the crankshaft and connecting rods are forged from the factory with the Speed3...so there is plenty of room for more power (the blocks have been proven to be strong enough for massive power)

Just as much as any other turbo system....For real big power you'll end up changing out for a larger turbo, freer flowing exhaust, etc,etc....Bottom line is Mazda does a ton of stuff for you and you have a warranty for 50,000 miles.
