Power door lock beep

Power door lock beep
Hi everyone -
My girlfriend recently purchased a 2010 Mazda 3. The power door lock beep doesn't sound when hitting the lock button on the advanced keyless transmitter. I've looked through the manual, but cannot find out how to turn this feature back on. Anyone know how? Does it have to be taken to the dealership?
Thanks in advance

I'd imagine it's one of those things the dealer can turn on and off by interfacing with the computer. There's a bunch of little options on the 2nd gen like that. When it was first released Mazda gave every owner a card with the options they could choose between, and they could have one programming done for free when they returned the card. Presumably Mazda compiled all the cards they got back, found the most commonly chosen configuration and made that a default setting on newer cars.
I'd check with the dealer to see if this is changeable, as well to see if there are any other features you can turn on/off at the same time that you were prefer to have/not have. The only one that comes to mind is the "smart" turn signals..... basically if you just tap the turn signal to the first detent (where it isn't locked on) it will flash three times and then turn off.

In the back of the owners manual in the Personalization settings, the setting for the answer back beep volume is what probably needs to be changed by the dealer. It is usually set to high by default, but maybe yours is set to deactivated. Here is a link to get the manual if you need it. - http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/disp...earHome.action
