dealer parts depts. gave me a price in the high $600 range for the
pump unit. So I'm counting on you being right.

Okay thx I'll give them a call.
Called Mazda cust. svc. and they say my vin# is not on the recall list. As
far as the noise, sounds like when you exhale over an empty bottle, and
hasn't gotten any louder. According to the recall, rust particles are getting
into the pump and it shuts down. Call them at 1-800-222-5500 with yr
vin# and see what gives.

yea same here.. i hope they find something. I found a video on yotuube. Same noise. its hard to hear on the video but you have to listen to it.

This is what I am hearing. Its hard to hear it on the video. I found this video on youtube.
Everytime I am pulling out or parking, I can hear the whining noise. very loud and ppl standing outside of the car can hear the noise. I'm pretty sure its not normal for a 2010, brand new car. i had little over 3 months now.

Guess what guys. I just checked my power steering fluid and its leaking. it was at full last week and now its half away down. The noise I was hearing gotten louder so I checked. I'm taking my car back on monday and hopefully I can get this fix. I'll let yall know the result.

lower frequency, but like yours not normal. With the leak, I think you will
get a little more attention from Mazda. Just so you don't think your alone,
one of the Mazda parts guys I spoke to, says his 3 is making the same
noise.

yea mines louder. Oh really? okay, i'll make sure I mention that.
Here are the picture I took. Hopefully they will get it fix this time.

well hopefully the noise wont come back for you b/c its very annoying. Electric power steering is **** if it suppose to make noises like this. I took it to mazda and nothing wrong with the car once again. bastards.. one year, i'm gonna trade in my car and get another brand. not satisfied with my purchase..
