question regarding a used car
I am planning on purchasing a used mazda 3 i sedan. The ad is on autotrader http://www.trader.ca/powerpage/detai...;vlotid=233018
I like to know from the professional used car buyers, if it is a good deal.
It's listed at $12,900 mazda 3 i sedan 4D, 2005, 53,555 km.
I think its a good price at a good low mileage.
thank you

RE: question regarding a used car
If this were an American "i" model, I'd say that you could've bought this car new 3 yrs ago for that price, or around $13k dollars.
Also, it's only option seem to be the auto trans. It seems very basic other than that.
And, I'd say the mileage is only average, not great.
From a 48 state point of view, it sounds very high to me.

RE: question regarding a used car
it seems a fair price...the place u are buying it from is reputable but make sure you thoroughly check it out...ask for a history report to see if it was in an accident....make sure the car is washed wen u look at it to see scratches and look for paint overspray this could be a sign it was repainted...check the engine make sure it sounds right....and dont offer ask come in low and make it seems like you arent really interested

RE: question regarding a used car
I sold my 2005 3i about 6 months ago@ 52,000 miles for $10,500 USD
It also had Mazdaspeed springs/camber links, 17" wheels and tires. 15" wheels and tires, a full body kit, custom interior and Mazdaspeed exhaust.

RE: question regarding a used car
Negotiate - never pay the dealer asking price on a used car. Its a business, they are asking for more than they expect.
The car should IMO retail for at least a 40% less than a comparable new model (3 years old, 54000km should be depreciated at least 40% versus new). A 2008 Mazda 3 GX Sport AT has anMSRP price of Canadian$18,900. A 40% discount would bring this to Canadian$11,340.

low mileage, decent price so that I don't visit the mechanic that often.
