Remote Starter
Hey,
Just went by a dealer to see about OEM remote starter install for my 2015 Mazda 3, they wanted over $1000 for that which eliminated the possibility immediately. I went to a car audio store that can do it and put in a nice viper system for less than half the price of the dealer. They did tell me that when you remote start it, it eliminates the abilities of the proximity key. So I can remote start it, but I will then have to push the button on the viper FOB. Apparently when the car is running, the OEM FOB is completely useless? So, my question is, is this information accurate? I suppose I can live without the proximity lock/unlock but I would prefer to keep the push button lock/unlock with the OEM FOB. Anyone have any experience with the newer push button models and remote start?
Thanks
P

I don't know for sure, but there are different models of remote start. The one I put in my wife's 2010 3i was a basic one way model (about $300 installed at Best Buy) and it did not affect the buttons on the OEM key.
