does anyone know how to remove the center console on the mazda 3?

 

It's pretty easy, really.
Rermove the shift ****, the ash tray and carefully pull up to remove the boot from the ash tray's side. From there, reach into the top-front of the compartment and pull up to release the clips. The top of the console is now removed.
To remove the bottom part, remove the two screws below the ash tray and the two screws or 8mm bolt from the inside of the compartment. Lift the console from the back to release the clips from the lower center stack. And that's really it!

 

Why??????

 

Sounds like someone wants to install a short shifter... though that's only a guess.

'Sides, and I'm not trying to be a smartass here, it shouldn't matter why. He asked for help.

i am installing an ipod interface that allows me to control the ipod with the steering wheel controls and it plugs directly into the sound system. perfect sound quality and easy to use. almost OEM!!!!

are you thinking about the DICE? ive been thinkin about that also. ive got an 05 and the only thing i was wondering about is where you would put the connector. big cord thing in the glove compartment? or have the AUX somehow feed into the center console like newer mazdas?
