I bought a 2005 mazda 3 2.3L auto hatchback, that need's a engine. I have called around about engines not really had any luck but my question is. Will a engine out of a 5 speed car interchange with a auto car. A Mazda dealer told me that it wouldnt work does any one know. And will a 2004 work in my car is there any other years that will. And will a 2.3 out of another mazda work meaning not a mazda 3 are all the 2.3 engines the same even in diff vehicles. Can any one help

 

engines between 04-09 will mount in the car no problem, a 2.3 from another mazda like a 5, 6 will also work. Ive seen people do auto to manual swaps in the 3 but im not too sure on how exactly it was done. Id just look around for another auto one just to be safe.

 

Thanks, not having any luck finding a 2.3 any where. might try to rebuild
