Default Short Shift 101?

Help me understand this, I have been looking at short shifters (and the springs) and I found a TMW short shifter for 160 with what they claim to be a 40% throw, but i was looking at the Mazdaspeed one with a 20% throw for 210?
Makes no sense

Mazdaspeed parts have to go through more certification testing/development than the other brands do (OEM vs aftermarket requirements.) It's an unfortunate truth of the auto industry and a main reason why it's difficult for OEM's to provide performance parts at competitve pricing with the Aftermarket manufacturers.

Newbie here... transitioning from the world of Ford Focus. Regardless of cost, is there a general opinion on which STS is the best performer? My gut tells me it's the Mazdaspeed.
