Sound Proofing
#24
It's a bit late for you guys but someone else might benefit: There is a brush on sound deadener, called QuietCar. Her is what a guy wrote on a different site:
Well, I finally completed the install of some sound dampening material under the rear seat, on the trunk floor, and front wheel wells. The product I used is Quiet car ( quietcar.net ). It is a non toxic material that converts the kinetic (noise) energy into heat energy. You use a paint brush to apply it to the surface. One gallon cover about 40 sq ft. and the more coats you put on the quieter the interior of the car gets. I used about 1.5 gallons on the three places I mentioned above. They claim that a 20 dB sound reduction can occur with enough coats. I applied five coats. I would guess that I got about a 50% sound reduction based off of the sound of my HKS carbon Ti cat back. The application process took me many days to complete. The reason being is that I didn't dedicate all my time to finishing up the project. I like the wieght saving compared to "mats". After drying, one gallon wieghs no more than roughly 8 lbs. I also noticed my sub woofer sound a lot better. Well thats it for my short review. Check out the website for more info.
