RE: SPEED3 Owners thread
Thanks, Draconius. I bought my Speed3 from Westcott Mazda in National City and had a very good experience. They picked me up from home (I live 20 miles away from the dealership) the day I bought my car, gave me a full tank of gas, and offered me complimentary oil and filter change for the first year (though I'll opt to pay the difference for synthetic). This is my first Mazda, so I'm not sure if this is standard treatment for all new Mazda buyers, but I was certainly impressed with their customer service.
My daily commute is from Carmel Mountain Ranch to Downtown and back, and I've yet to see another Speed3 on the road here in San Diego as well. I'll keep an eye out for your True Red!

Thanks for the YouTube Link.
Here is the response I received from Mazda regarding the installation of a sunroof.
I’ll summarize it. “Maybe its O.K., Maybe its not. Ether way we don’t warranty it.â€
Hello Bryan,
Thank you for contacting Mazda. I apologize for the delay in response to your contact.
As the sunroof being installed is an aftermarket part we would not be able to determine what issues may be caused by adding the part to the vehicle because it was not designed by Mazda. As such I would highly recommend speaking with the reputable installer about what issues could develop. Also please be aware that Mazda does not recommend the installation of aftermarket parts as any issues that they could cause would not be covered under warranty.
Once again, thank you for contacting Mazda.

Love my black mica speed3 sport. Contemplating a muffler upgrade and cold air intake additions. Will there be a favorable result in horse power and in exhaust sound? Also thinking about the New England winter, what snow tires are recommended?

RE: SPEED3 Owners thread
It has been a few months since I perused this site. I have put about 4K miles on my Speed 3. I have also received a ticket for doing 31 miles over the limit. I fell victim to the rush you get while accelerating up the "on ramp". I actually passed a state trooper who was cruising opposite a semi just out of view as I entered the freeway. I made eye contact, simply pulled over and got my ticket. It was all over in a few minutes. $135. Stupid me. I am lucky it has not happened again. This little rocket can get you a ticket in a heartbeat. I should stick to driving my pickup.
Those of you who think this car needs more power ???
It is not like a muscle car - just a whoosh and you are exceeding the speed limit. Better make friends with the judge if you have a heavy foot.
I believe I made the right decision in buying this car although if the budget was a bigger concern, I would recommend the stock Mazda 3 five door.
So much for my experience!

Call to SLC area Mazdaspeed3 Owners!
In our effort to make products to the best of our ability, assure fitment with as many other parts as possible, and check variances from car-to-car, I would like to get a list going of SLC area MS3 owners. I would likely contact these helpful individuals for test fitment of products during testing and quality assurance from time-to-time. I would like to test things like the downpipe with a stock cat-back as the stock one is one piece and ours had to be cut for removal. Another example would be our FMIC with other intakes like the MazdaSpeed Intake since it is a popular modification.
Possible perks (besides the good feeling you get deep in your heart by helping us and your other fellow enthusiasts ) are free/discounted installations, testing, and possibly discounts on the parts if you choose to keep them and we feel they are ready for production. If you would like to volunteer to help us and the MS3 community, please email me your info to josh@cobbtuning.com.
