Default Speed3 problem

Hey everyone,

I know I haven't been on here in a while (but that's a good thing, cause it means I'm not having issues), but I just had an issue appear about two to three weeks ago. But, my '08 Cosmic Speed 3 is having problems.

My gearbox is acting a little funny, as in it's hard to engage first and second gear when stopped, and when it was snowing and icy, the reverse spring was all screwed up, and wouldn't return to neutral. I don't have this problem all the time, only at certain times. (She's only got 14900 miles, and I don't beat my gearbox to ****...hell, I drive my car under the speed limit 99% of the time!

Any idea? I thought it's either the synchro (but no grinding) or the neutral spring, or perhaps the linkages are screwed.

Any help is appreciated.

When Does it do it the most? A lot of Manual cars have a problem with thegoing intogears in the Cold.
But if it gets worse I would take it in to Mazda.

It only does it when it's really cold, and usually only after starting.

I believe these cars have a hydraulic clutch, so if it is really cold and the fluid is a littlelethargic it would have an effect on the performance of the clutch. I have noticed mine to not be as crisp shifting on cold morning.

That is morethan likely just cold gearbox syndrome.

Thanks Siber and Blk03PSD, I really appreciate your answers. I haven't driven my car in close to a week, because I don't have school for a while, but I'm definitely driving it today, and I'll see if it does it.

Mine doesn't like morning shifts either....
