Stock Sound System Upgrades
Hello All,
I'm a new owner of a 2012 Mazda3 Hatch iTouring, and I love the car, however I've always been extremely particular about sound systems. I've fallen out of the loop with audio, over the past five years or so, so I have no idea where to start; many new products available today that promote increases in car audio quality.
I have the non-BOSE system with four door-speakers and two tweeters. My overall goal is to upgrade all of the speakers to higher-quality models, and add a woofer to compliment the whole setup. In terms of the woofer, I was thinking of something like this:
JL Audio Stealthbox® Custom-fit fiberglass enclosure with 10" W1v2-4 subwoofer fits 2010-up Mazda3 hatchback at Crutchfield.com
OR
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_975PP7E....html?tp=49859
With...
Helix PP50DSP Plug and Play digital signal processor with built-in 5-channel amplifier at Crutchfield.com
My goal is the keep the car looking as factory as possible. Part of it is to remain discreet, and also in part of loosing some bluetooth functionality, etc...from removing the stock head unit. I have no idea what speakers to choose, but I know they should compliment the fact that a woofer will handle low-end frequencies...I could be thinking about this all wrong, hence why I'm posting here hoping intelligent, informed individuals could help me with this...Honestly, I'm open for anything. All I know is I want an audio setup far better than what's provided stock...tax season is right around when I will get this done, since I will be getting my taxes back that were paid on the car, so I'm looking at a budget of $1200.00.
Help is GREATLY appreciated! :-)
