Alright I've already done a lot of research and I've bought my wireing kit and a LOC ( probably not the best our there its only a 18.00 dollar one from walmart). The directions in the LOC say to hook up front and back both possitive and negitive but from what I've seen hooking up just the rear pos and beg should work? So that's what i did. So i guess my questions are is it ok to just hook up the rear? Where should i put my ground cause my kit only came with like a 3 foot ground cable? And wha about the REM wire? There was no place to hook it up on my LOC but im pretty sure you need one to power the amp?


I really need help on this so i can get my car back together before work tomorrow so please please HELP!!!

 

Where are you mounting your amp? I would ground it to the body if at all possible. As far as the remote wire I have heard people tapping it into the cigarette lighter light wire and it working good.

 

in the truck but im not sure where would be a good place to ground it back there (preferably an existing bolt hole)

 

No problems with hooking up the amp input to the rear speakers only, this is actually a good way to trim some of the sound in the system using the fader to see how loud you want the amp.
There's an existing ground on the passenger side of the trunk, and there are some on the lower side of each B-pillar as well. Though i'd suggest running ground back to the battery to keep from having voltage drop issues. You already need to run the positive to the battery (remember to use a fuse) so add a ground while you're running it. You can buy bulk wire at any audio store, or on ebay.

There is a remote line on the stock radio, though there isn't a pin for the connection. If you look at the wires, there is a switched output for the FM amplifier, though this turns off when playing CD's etc... But since the radio is only on when the ignition is on, you can just attach to the switched power wire on the head unit.

 

Thanks guys i got it all hooked up i ran my remote wire to the cig fuse and my ground i ten to where the jack was mounted and i just put the jack under the spare i put pics up in my album if you wanna see how it turned out
