When is a good time to switch my MS3 over to synthetic? Only at 300 KM so far but would like a heads up.

I'd say 10K is a good time todo it. I waited a bit longer, but not because I was concernedabout it.

but do make sure you switch to a high mileage syn when you get up there in the mileage.

cause if you have leaks...synthetic oil will make them appear on older cars.

how much is it different from regular oil to synthetic oil. i know it helps the performance of your car but is there a big $$ difference or no?

There is a decent difference as far as cost is concerned...

About twice as much, Jaime. It doesn't help the performance enough to even mention, but it does (arguably) protect it better than mineral based oils.
AND it'll safely gotwice as long too, some say up to 18K miles.
I change mine every 10K miles, a filter and top-off after 5.

In my old Honda, which I really beat the **** out of btw, I converted to the "old" Moble1 @ around 80-90K miles and drove the car until it nearly (and literally) rusted out beneath me to 187K.I only changed the oil every 15K... the filter too, though I would NOT recommend doing that. No problems that weren't there before with that car, even up to the end.

ahh you should go ahead and mourn your old civic haha. the poor thing got the **** kicked out of it and it still ran like a top. just like with my fathers 92 accord ex-r. that thing ran like a top when he got rid of it with 350,000 KM. as for every 10 k wow. isnt it supposed to be like every 5k KM or every 6 months. reason why i am wondering is because i havent changed mine yet and im at roughly 2500 KM. (alot of KM for about a month eh lol.) but because its a new engine your supposed to take out the brand new stuff earlier but i dont know how early
