Well, I don't know about "midnight" blue, but here the Strato Blue Mica that was discontinued a few years ago.
This is Operator's car btw.

Where is everyone getting this flip key key fob from? Can you tell me where to buy it? Is it issued by Mazda?
The flip key is two parts, the key portion and the remote portion. They're both Mazda parts originally made for other models, however some of the ones avaialble work with the 3. The problem is that in US 2007 model Mazda changed the keyless entry unit and the flip remotes that worked on '04-'06 models won't work with '07+ models. Soooo if you have a '04-'06 you can easily get a flip key for about $75..... and if you have a '07+ then you're SOL. Now what I just said applies specifically to US models. I know some Canadian models come with flip keys so you should be able to get a flip key if you have a Canadian 3 (Psssst, where do you live?).

Currently the parts we're using are the remote portion from a Mz6 sedan, and the key portion from..... all Mazdas that use flip keys as the transponders are the same between all models. So if you have a '07+ then the key would work and start the car, just the remote wouldn't work.

Here's my wish list for 2009 Mazda3

(1) 2.5L or 3.0L DISI engine (I4 or I6) with flat torque curve starting from 2000rpm;
(2) Maintain the long engine compartment/short tail body style
(3) 18 inch alloy wheels with ventilated disc brakes all around
(4) lifeback on the sedan
(5) more importantly, 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
(6) advanced lighting (adaptive LED brake light, artistic LED DRL (Audi/BMW), fog)
(7) make ABS/EBD/Brake Assist/DSC/Airbag/AirCurtain standard on all models
(8) make sunroof standard on all model (but don't reduce head room, like ScionTc did).

Mazda should continue to benchmark the BMW 3 series.

i believe the 2010 (or '09) models will get dual exhaust, and a 2.3L and 2.5L engine.
the 2.5L should produce around 180-200hp. fyi.

and btw, your starting to get into ms3 territory.
the speed3 (and 6) dont have vented brakes, and yet, they're brakes are more than enough. especially for tracking and autocrossing.

that'd be great!

Speed6 is gone, I heard. BTW, how does the speed sell? It's be interesting to have some sales numbers of the I, S, and Speed3 models. I don't necessarily like turbo-charged engines, naturally breathing engines are fine for me, but it seems that Mazda can improve their VVT technology with direct injection.

correct, the speed6 is dead.

and in some areas, the speed3's sell like hotcakes, in others, they dont sell at all.

These are things i wish i had in my car instead of an 09 because i plan on keeping my beautiful 3 until she croaks. But for a new 3, I would like it if all 3's got anti-slip differential instead of just the speed3. If the HID's where auto-leveling, adaptive, bi-xenon headlamps. If the car got some snazzy DRL's like on BMW's with there angel eyes. There is already an engine upgrade coming and DSC will be standard on ALL cars sold in the US by 2012, and that will include ABS brakes because DSC can't function without them. There is an auto-dimming rearview mirror option; if that also included dimming for the outside mirrors too then it would be great and more functional because those tend to disrupt you more because the lights are blinding you from the right and left. Those types of mirrors do exist but on Benz's and Bimmers. Available AWD, for us northerners, on all models not just top of the line or the 5-door. If a jetta and a honda can have laser-cut keys, then i believethe 3 should have them too. Especiallysince the car is easy to break into.Plus the things that were previously mention. Oh yeah, Icspots I have an 05 3s 4dr and when i was looking for my car i told the dealer the onlyoption i wanted on my car where the HID's. He said those will only be on the cars thatare fully loaded, and my dad was buying the car so i had to take what i got. No complaints though i got an S model instead of an I. Igot the 17's so the car looked great and i didn't care because i was getting my 3. I put in a pair of 5000k's and they look like OEM's.And the benefit of not having HID's is the repair cost. I read a message where a girl had to replace a part of the setup and it cost her over $200 because her car was past warranty. Also with the halogen unit, you are able to raise or lower the beam. When i discovered this i pointed them up too high, because i did the adjusting during the day and had no clue how high i had them. When i drove, the tops of trees were lit. There was absolutely no use for the high beams, but with the xenons in i knew i was blinding and pissing people off.
