Thinking about buying my first Mazda... is this a good deal?
Hi everyone. After running a used car to the ground, buying another used car and having to put 2K in repairs before being left stranded in the middle of the highway (all of this withing 3 weeks), I'm seriously considering buying a brand new car for the first time.
The 4-door i Touring with automatic transmission has been the model that's gotten my attention. It seems to have the best value out of all, or at least for my needs. The Bose sound system in the i GT looks like a really cool thing but I don't want to pay 3K for it, and I don't want the navigation system anyway so the i Touring seems like the perfect combination between luxury and value for me.
I tried getting quotes from truecar.com for the i Touring and it gave me a 20,409 guaranteed price. This seemed like a decent deal already: mazda.com gives it a $20,645 MSRP and TrueCar says that anything less than $20,877 is a great price. None of these prices include TTLF.
Then one of the dealerships that got my info from truecar.com contacted me and offered me a $18,995 price, with a $21,287 total drive-out including all fees.
I've only been doing research for a couple of days but this seems like a really good deal. Am I right, or I should still be able to find something considerably better?
Thanks!

I bought my 2014 iTouring hatch right at $21,900 MSRP, but I got extras with no additional charges for them. I also bought it in September shortly after it was delivered to the dealer. It was that dealer's first 2014 Mazda3 when everyone had just gotten one car in early September. Didn't seem like, at the time, I had a whole lot of wiggle room for negotiation, but as I said, I got extras for no charge. So I shook hands at MSRP plus extras
New Mazda3 4-door MSRP is $19,595 according to Mazdausa.com, not $20,645. $18,995 sounds like a good price. Edmunds, for some reason, is showing a higher price for invoice (about a grand higher) than Mazda's website shows for MSRP, which is really odd. Either way, $18,995 sounds like a good price.

You may want to check out Heritage Mazda out of Baltimore, MD one of the more aggressive dealers on the east coast. Owings Mill location I'm waiting on Mazda USA to finally release their SkyActive Diesel in 2015 and will gladly drive from Burkel, VA up to Baltimore, MD.
