Traffic Sign Recognition Disappears when Phone Connected via USB
Hi all.
I have a new Mazda 3 Pure.
When an Apple or Android phone is connected via USB, the Traffic Sign Recognition disappears on the dash and heads up display on the windscreen.
It returns when the phone is disconnected
I have tried different USB cables, original and third party, and even restored our phones to factory settings to test.
I am concerned that a phone could have any influence on my instrumentation at all.
Has anyone experienced this issue?
Cheers,
Phil

Interesting. I will check it out on my 2019 Mazda3 tonight to see if the same thing happens to me.
The connection of the phone turns on Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. The traffic sign display function (at least in the US) is based on the database that comes with the SD Card navigation. It is not a true sign recognition system (again at least in the US). I suspect the system assumes you are using a phone based navigation and turns off all Mazda based navigation functions.
My frustration is that I cannot connect by Bluetooth to my second phone when the first is plugged in. Without a phone plugged in, I use one for calls and the other for audio.
I will check out my system tonight and post an additional response.

I confirmed that it is the same in my 19 3. When a phone is connected using Apple CayPlay, the speed signs do not display. A bigger disappointment for me is the loss of the red line on the speedometer at the speed limit and the red line from the speed limit to the speed I am driving.

Late to the party but yes, I have this problem too. Android auto doesn't replace the setting of speed limiting or the red line and I like having it on my HUD... only way I found to re-enable it is once you have plugged your phone in, you take the SD card out and back in, seems to reactivate it when phone in but this is not a practical way of using it... will wear out the card or slot at some point.
