Default unusual noise when starting.

Just like the title says, My 06 mazda 3 is making a funny noise when first started or even after the engine has cooled down a little, maybe 10 minutes after turning it off. But when i start it and then turn it off and start it again the noise isn't there. It sounds like it is coming from between the engine and the firewall but im not completely sure. The car has an automatic trans and only 68,000 miles. Im new to mazdas but not to forums. If this one is like the others i have been on, I already tried searching so any help would be great.

your description is extremely vague, cant really help on finding out what the problem is if its noise related over the net unless you have a sound vid of said noise. I cant do anything for you or even get close to what it might be without hearing it

it sounds like a rattle or vibration between the engine and firewall. possibly on the passenger side...

Default Could it be?

I have a 2007 Chevy Malibu that makes the same noise your describing. Kinda like marbles in a can? Only does it on start up for a short period, maybe 3 to 5 seconds, if the engine has cooled a bit? Had it checked and mine is the cat. converter coming apart. Hopes this helps.
