Default Voice guidence

The Voice Guidance stopped working on my navigation system in my 2019 Mazda 3. I have only had the car a month. Any suggestions?

I suspect the volume may be turned down to zero.

In the set-up menu, under navigation, there is a navigation guidance setting that may need to be increased from zero to something appropriate.

There is also a setting in the navigation menu to mute the guidance instructions. This may have been checked.

Unfortunately, simply un-checking the mute does not return the volume to the previous level. It sets the volume to zero.


Give these two steps a try before worrying too much. Let us know if it works.

The sound level was checked. The only bit of voice guidance that comes through is when I alter course and I voice says that the route is being reconfigured, or some thing like that. I get no turn warnings at all. I did the last time a I set up and followed a route but not today.

Wow. I am stumped. If you get some guidance messages, you should get them all.

I could see not not getting some turn notifications. There are a few places near me where the GPS doesn’t acknowledge a turn and acts like it is a continuous road. This also happened on my Garman.

Did it work properly after you parked and later returned to your car? I had a different problem with mine that fixed itself the next time I used the car.

The only other thing I can recommend is restoring to factory defaults.

It it may be time to take it to the dealer. When they say they don’t know how to help, try restoring to factory defaults.

I have the same problem and cannot figure out what to do. Nor do Mazda themseves.

Is your Nav SD card from the dealer or is it from another source. Mine is from Ebay. I was wondering if that is the problem.

thank you for chatting with me about this!!! it is the original - the car is brand new to me etc etc - what a carry on... i do not think it is that - do you? i gather it is not resolved for you either?

No. I don't know if my dealer even called Mazda. When I called Mazda US HQS, they referred me back to my dealer. I
don't think Mazda has a clue.

Hah! I bet they do not. have the annual service next week and will tell them this again. will also try to ring Mazda in the UK here.

I have the same problem. Only says route recalculating. Did you ever find a solution? Thank you
