Hey guy. I'm new here. So just want to first say hello.

So I have found this lovely car: 2005 MAZDA 3 SP23. I just found it and I'm in love with it but I can't find them anywhere!!!!

 

Why on earth would you want to destroy a car like this by putting an automatic transmission in it?

Yes, it would not be worth converting.
As for the comments made by the other members, +2!!
Learn how to drive stick and enjoy it. In the end, you'll likely be much happier.
Short of that, find a 3S sedan that already is automatic.
The SP was a one year only "special" model, that is to me, frankly not all that special. It's basically the same car with a few niceties added, like the brown leather not available on any other model. I could like w/o it.

 

I am now kicking myself in the A$$ for not buying a manual. The main reason for that is the wife having to deal with a stick shift and a 1yr old in the backseat when she goes places while I'm at work.

And with having a F-150 as my other vehicle and gas prices the way they are it ain't worth letting her have the truck.

 

I wish i had stick and an sp23. I like the dark gray on the 04-06 models and that was the only year and model that had it. I also like the brown leather and the extra goodies it comes with. They're a rare find, hence special edition. If my car was under my name and i had no debts and disposable cash, i'd buy the one in the picture. No matter how far away in the US it is. Good luck on your search.

My girlfriend is driving the exact same car that you are looking for, shes looking to get rid of the car.

 

<------ is also confused as to why some1 would complain about a manual, also the doo doo brown leather is a sales killer, its like OMFG this car is so nice and then u open the door and just barf and this is another example of the "if it aint broke dont fix it" statement that Mazda hasent heard of yet and look at what happened to the 3

 

Though I know those that are, I was never a big fan of the brown interior either. It reminds me of an old man wearing black pants w/brown shoes.
IIRC though, they also came w/black leather... or am I wrong about that? I think the brown was optional.

 

so basically you want an automatic mazda3. just ask travis... fail. I drove a mazda3 in automatic when my car was in the shop... I HATED IT. the 5 spd is just love. an automatic mazda3 is just a waste of a car.
