Want to Add Exhaust....
So I have an 08' Mazda 3 4-door 2.0 L automatic. I want to add some exhaust to my car, I want to achiever what this guy got http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQo6HvGJH5E the part he ordered is about $88 so it's not too expensive. I'm just very unsure how to do this.
I'd really prefer a dual exhaust pipes with a nice sound as cheaply as possible. Would there also be a way to lower the volume with a controller?
Please give me some info and price ranges.
Thanks!
*Yes, I'm aware this is semi-ricer*

that little trick made it sound surprisingly well, and yes he only bought a tip which has no effect on sound and is merely for looks.
Im guessing that "mod" should cost around 80-100 depending on who you go to do it.
And no there is no such thing as a "controller" to adjust the volume of your exhaust only your right foot

I did the second muffler delete (on a CA emissions/PZEV there is a resonator, an oval style muffler, and then a traditional baffle style muffler after the second cat). Cost me $40 to have the second one deleted and the OEM tip welded onto the new pipe.
There is no way anyone would know that a part of the exhaust has been removed (unless they were a mechanic or service advisor). It looks stock, is not overly loud, and nothing related to emissions has been touched.
Best bang for the buck IMO in terms of mods.

I had an exhaust shop do the the work. They cut away the muffler, and installed a section of pipe and a hanger welded on.
Yes, you can use any tip you want.
I don't have any sound clips, but those on Youtube (search Mazda 3 muffler delete) are pretty close in terms of how it sounds right next to the tailpipe. It is merely sporty from inside the car, with zero drone at highway speeds (which is common in aftermarket catbacks).
Be ready for some burble (cackling when you downshift). I personally love that sound (my old MINI Cooper with a Magnaflow burbled like crazy). Some people don't like it.
